Donnie H. Peele

BAILEY - Donnie H. Peele, age 61, passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2022. Born in Nash County, NC on January 9, 1961, he was the son of Shirley Reams Peele and the late Harold Ross Peele. He was also preceded in death by is grandparents Woodrow Wilson Reams and Gladys Patterson Reams. On Tuesday, July 19 at 12:16 AM, Donnie Harold Peele departed the bonds of life on Earth and made the journey to eternal life in the arms of his Savior Lord Jesus Christ. While in this earthly life, Donnie made his home in Bailey, NC. He made his way on Earth driving a long-haul truck for 35 years as owner operator and met his life love, soulmate, and partner Mary Martin through this adventure. To all who knew him, Donnie was a kind, considerate, caring soul who would not hesitate to help anyone he could. Donnie's compassion for others magnified when his family was concerned, as mentor for his sister Sherry Peele, companion to his brother Kenneth Peele, and devoted helper to his father and mother Ross and Shirley Jean Peele. Donnie will be forever fondly remembered in the hearts of his loved ones who remain but look forward to the future reunion with him. As we celebrate Donnie's life, we also celebrate his arrival in Heaven. To this end we do not say Goodbye we say, we'll see you soon son, brother, soulmate, friend. Journey well Donnie, journey well. Donnie enjoyed going fishing in his down time. He spent most of his weekends working on his truck. Donnie loved animals, especially his peacock, duck, dogs, chickens, and goats. He loved to plant flowers and do yard work. He was a loving son, brother, and friend and will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him. In addition to his mother, Donnie is survived by his sister, Sherry Peele of Sharpsburg; his brother, Kenneth Peele of Bailey; his significant other, Mary Martin of the home; his aunts, Margie Tant and husband, Earl of Nashville, Evelyn Peele of Raleigh, and Barbara Nell Moore of Spring Hope; his nieces, Jessica Smith and Katlynn Gunter; and his great niece, Kaylee Smith. A Celebration of Donnie's Life will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Nashville Church of God, 606 S. Clark Street, Nashville, NC 27856 with Pastor Stanley Gaskins and Pastor Jonathan Pearce officiating. A visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM following the service in the Sanctuary of Nashville Church of God.
