Edward Jackson Bowden

Rocky Mount - Edward "Ed" Jackson Bowden, age 81, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 in Rocky Mount, NC. Born in Nash County, NC on December 15, 1938, he was the son of the late Lewis and Pauline Bowden. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Patricia "Pat" Lynch Bowden. Ed is survived in death by his son, Lewis Bowden of Whitakers. He is also survived by grandson, Justin Bowden of Rocky Mount. Ed worked many jobs throughout his lifetime, his last being at Amoco Fibers of Rocky Mount, from which he retired. After retirement, he enjoyed many activities outside, especially fishing. Anyone that knew Ed knew how much of a dedicated fisherman he was. With numerous fishing citations both salt and freshwater. He was most proud of the fact that he held the record for over 50 years with the North Carolina State Channel Catfish which was caught in City Lake in Rocky Mount, NC on September 1, 1970. Graveside service will be held on Monday, June 1, 2020 at 12 noon, at Forest Hill Cemetery.
