Edwin Lisk Everette, age 90, passed away on March 31, 2017. Born in Nash County, NC on January 31, 1927, he was the son of the late Percy Lee Everette, and Ella Belle Green Everette. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Jean Satterwhite Everette, his daughter, Rebecca Tolbert Smith, his brothers Beal Green Everette and Kirby Lee Everette, nephew Robert Michael Everette, and niece Nelda Everette.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his son Edwin Lisk Everette Jr. and wife Marlene of the Salem Community, NC; daughter Beverly Everette Batton and husband Henry of Hampstead, NC; and Bryan Watson Everette of Nashville, NC. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kristy Sartin and husband Austin of Burlington, NC; Tracy Everette of Nashville, NC, Joseph Batton of Hampstead, NC; great-grandaughter Alexis Marie Whitney; and his brother Ray Everette and several nieces and nephews.
Lisk was owner of E-B Trucking Company in Battleboro, NC. He was a member of Battleboro United Methodist Church, a charter member of Battleboro Fire Department, a member of Sudan Temple and the Rocky Mount Shrine Club, and was a member of the North Carolina Seniors Golf Association. Lisk was also a veteran and served in the US Navy during WWII.
Lisk was the portrayal of what his mother use to say, “if you are a good person, everyone knows it; and if you are a bad person everyone knows it.” He always strived to display the “good person” and was a kind and loving husband, father grandfather and great-grandfather.
The Everette family would like to thank Latisha Richardson, RN, Chanequa Hines RN, Dr. Boyette, Hospice of Nash General, and the Staff of Brookdale of Rocky Mount for their great care, support and kindness.

My deepest sympathy Edwin Jr,,, so sorry to hear of your fathers passing,, and so close to your moms passing.. prayers to you and your family
Marlene and family, we are so sorry for your loss.. Lois and I enjoyed our many talks with Lisk as we walked our Neighborhood. Lisk set a great example for all, he kept a beautiful yard, always dressed nicely and seemed to be very diligent to take care of all matters. He was a very polite man and always had a positive attitude. Lisk will be dearly missed by all of us, but we will not forget the example he set! Our Prayers and Thoughts are with you and your Family, Fred and Lois Adams
I want to send my deepest sympathy to the family of Edwin Lisk Everette Sr. The bible tells us we can gain comfort from God, even during times of sorrow. We pray to our heavenly father for help to cope with the sorrow felt from the death of a loved one. By prayer and supplication, let your petitions be made known to God; and the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your mental powers by means of Christ Jesus. Philippians 46 May you find comfort by relying on our heavenly father and learning more about the blessings of Gods kingdom. Local ministry volunteer
I did not know of Daddy Lisk passing. My deepest sympathies to the family. I always enjoyed my time with the family especially seeing your Mom and Dad. They both will be missed by so many, but know they are both watching all of you and smiling down proud of the adults you all have been and knowing you all will do good for others as they did.
