Rocky Mount - Emma Gene Hawkins Forsythe, age 87, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2019. Born in Parson, TN on September 11, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Gene Hawkins and Eugenia Hawkins. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Forsythe; daughter, Loren Forsythe, and sister, Patsy Davenport.
Emma leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughter, Janice Hartley. She is also survived by two grandsons, John Bottoms and Samuel Bottoms, three great-grandchildren, Michael Bottoms, Azela Bottoms, Hazel Bottoms, brother, Don Hawkins; and sister, Louise Gregory.
Emma was a Girl Scouts Leader and Bible School Teacher. Emma also enjoyed, Photography, Pottery, Gardening and Reading.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends and relatives 30 minutes before the service.

A lover of education and most of all a true Christian disciple. She was a servant of many during her time on earth.
