BALTIMORE, MD - Our loved one Evangeline D. Jordan, age 70, was born January 9, 1950 in Nash County, North Carolina, she departed this earthly life on January 2, 2021 at Levindale Nursing Home Facility in Baltimore, MD. Evangeline was born to Marcie Debro and Thomas Debreaux, she had one son Joseph Johnson, Jr. Evangeline moved to Queens, New York where she received her education and later married Kit Jordan. She was a midwife, shorthand writer and a speed reader who loved to read. She later became a foster parent and adopted all of her grandchildren who she loved dearly. She was a loveable peaceful private person. To know Evangeline was to love her as her dearest sister Reatha Debro (Poochie) did. She was preceded in death by her mother Macie Debro, Father Thomas Debreaux, her husband Kit Jordan and her brother Thomas Debreaux, Sr. She leaves to cherish her loving memories her only son Joseph Johnson, Sr. grandchildren, Joe, Jamal, Reese, Nina, DeAsia, Ricky and Rderick, great grandchildren Damani, Lyedeborah and a host of other great grandchildren, six sisters, Mary (Jasper), Maisie, Dorothy, Barbara (Elliott), Reatha (Toney), Simone (Eric Sr. ), two brothers Joseph and Samuel (Charmaine) and a host of nieces and nephews. Grand Jamel and Dovon. A Private Graveside service will be held at Pleasure Baptist Church in Whitakers, NC. Arrangements entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 661 English Road, Rocky Mount, NC 27804. Service A Private Graveside service will be held at Pleasure Hill Baptist Church in Whitakers, NC.
