ROCKY MOUNT – Glenda Faye Walston, age 63, passed away on Friday, May 19, 2023. Born in Nash County, NC on March 21, 1960, she was the daughter of the late Columbus J. Walston and Susie Elizabeth Johnson Walston. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Darry Walston; and sister-in-law, Sandra Walston.
Glenda loved to get her hair fixed, go out to eat, and go shopping. Her favorite time of year was Christmas. Above all, her most cherished memories will be those spent with her family.
Glenda is survived by her sisters, Sue Jackson (Don) of Rocky Mount, Janice Milstead (Bob) of Prescott, AZ, and Connie Kennedy (Monte) of Nashville; her brother, Kenneth Walston; and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 26, 2023, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Services. A burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. The family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday, May 25, 2023, from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the parlor of Johnson Funeral Home.

Glenda was a special person I remember visiting with her at nursing home where she was at.
So sorry to hear about sweet Glenda. She and I were in class together when she was going to school at Red Oak. I’ll always remember her sitting on the porch at y’all’s house and she was so friendly and always waved just like in the picture! And she looks so much like Mrs. Walston too!
