Herbert Hoover Williams

Rocky Mount - Herbert Hoover Williams, age 90, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2019. Born in Nash County, NC on November 25, 1928, he was the son of the late Joel and Zoma Rose Williams. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Judith Rebecca Williams; sisters, Ruth Howell, Grace Peele, Gladys Howell, Cahterin Todd, and Isadore Staton; and brothers, John Henry, J.T. and Donald Williams. Herbert leaves behind to cherish his memory, daughter, Belinda Taft and husband, George, of Rocky Mount, NC. He is also survived by grandson, Eric Heschl and wife Sarah and great grandson, Beckett of Wilmington, NC, sister, Virginia Bradley of Rocky Mount and loving nieces and nephews. Herbert, a man of honor, who served 30 years in the Air Force where he retired as Master Sargent with Strategic Air Command earning many decorations and commendations. Afterwards he worked at Abbott Labs as an electrician for 20 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed building furniture, hunting and fishing. Devoted family man, who was always loyal and supportive. A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 17, 2019 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 18, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Johnson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Wounded Warriors.
