Hubert Wayne Winstead

Wilson - Hubert Wayne “Dimpy” Winstead, age 68, passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2016. Born in Nash County on June 12, 1947, he was the youngest son of the late Roscoe and Minnie Winstead. He was also preceded in death by his brother James R. “Big Boy” Winstead, two nieces Evelyn Ann Sheffield and Karen Paige Williams. Hubert leaves behind to cherish his memory, sister, Rose Williams and husband, Frank, of Rocky Mount. He is also survived by one great niece Amy Outlaw and one nephew Frankie Wayne Williams. Hubert was a graduate of Northern Nash High School class of 1967. After high school he attended college for two years before becoming sick which forced him to leave school but he continued to be a blessing and inspiration to his family. Hubert is now at peace with his heavenly father and is being looked after by his mother to whom he loved very much and Hubert was his mothers “eye ball”. The family would like to give special thanks to all the staff at Longleaf who took the time to help Hubert through his troubled times and their care and compassion for Huberts family on their many trips to visit him. A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Rocky Mount Memorial Park in the mausoleum a funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM at the mausoleum.
