James Earl Baker

NASHVILLE - James Earl Baker age 77, passed away on Monday, March 8, 2021. Born in Nash County, NC on September 11, 1943, he was the son of the late James and Rosa Clark Baker. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Mary Manley Baker; his brother, Harold Baker. James and Mary were married in 1966, of this union four children were born, along with two grandchildren, they were the loves of his life. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church for many years, and was also Baptized there. The Lord Jesus Christ was always first in his life. James is survived by his sons, James H. Baker of Lawrenceville, GA and Timothy D. Baker of Rocky Mount; his daughters, Conswella A. Baker of Nashville, and Pamela Baker of Rocky Mount; his grandchildren, Brianna and Jayden; his brother, Frank Baker and wife, Sara of Atlanta, GA; Cousins, Doris Kingsberry Jones of Nashville, Helen Kingsberry Bandy and Linwood, of Rocky Mount and Loretta Clark Ricks of Nashville; and a host of other relatives, extended family and friends. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Minister Ethan Arrington officiating. Burial will follow the service at Forest Hills Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 11:45 AM to 1:45 PM prior to the service in the Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
