Rocky Mount - Jean-Luc Batchelor AKA Luke Davis or Turtle, age 28, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2020. Born in Edgecombe County, NC on December 27, 1991, to Dianne and James Albert Batchelor. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Berry and Mary Whitaker and also an aunt Ella Bullock. Jean-Luc leaves behind to cherish his memory, parents, Dianne and James Batchelor both of Rocky Mount. He is also survived by a brother from another mother, DeMario Richardson of Nashville. He is also survived by six aunts, Earline Curry & Husband of Baltimore MD, Jeanette Shields & Husband of Scotland Neck, Shirley Deloatch of Warrenton, Mary Davis, Sarah and Iris Whitaker of the home. Honorary aunt Robin Simon of Rocky Mount and four Honorary Cambodian aunts of Mitchellville, MD. Plus seven uncles, Berry and Curtis Whitaker of Baltimore, MD, Johnny Davis of Rocky Mount, Walter & Rosie Davis of Rocky Mount, Bobby & Patricia Davis of Rocky Mount, Willie & Nancy of Battleboro and Deon Whitaker of Mitchellville, MD and God son David Whitaker (the closest to a son that he ever had), and the many, many cousins and friends. He attended Rocky Mount Senior High, Edgecombe Community College and Pitt Community College. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.   1. My condolences goes out to the family especially Jean Luc mom. I am praying for you guys everyday. I remember growing up and his mom and my mom were friends. We went to church together, the nursery and high school together. We lived right across the street from one another on Tarboro st. He will always be remembered as he was his smile could brighten up any room.
