Jesse "Pete" Lee Adams

ROCKY MOUNT - Jesse Lee "Pete" Adams, age 95, passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2020. Born in Edgecombe County, NC on March 1, 1925, he was the son of the late Wiley Adams and Bessie Jackson Adams. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Anna Belle Watson Adams; his daughter, Brenda Joyce Adams; grandson, Travis Lee Adams; sisters, Geneva Price, Pearl Garrett and Viola Fulford; brothers, John Henry Adams, Bennie Thomas Adams, Wiley Gray Adams, James Garfield Adams and William Adams. Pete was a United States Navy veteran and served during WWII. He was a devoted member of Avalon Baptist Church for many years. His favorite past time was playing the guitar and singing Country music. Pete loved gardening, nothing better than fresh homegrown vegetables and flowers. Pete had a love for woodworking and shared his talents with family and friends. Pete will be remembered as a true family man. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. Pete is survived by his son, Richard Lee Adams and significant other, Jean Bell of Rocky Mount; grandson, Scott Adams and wife, Lynn of Zebulon; great-grandchildren, Caleb, Brinkley, Braden and Cyler; his sister, Daisy Mae Davis of Norfolk, VA.; and many nieces and nephews.
