John Gregory Sterken
December 20, 1920 ~ August 4, 2017
John Gregory Sterken, age 96, passed away on Friday, August 4, 2017. He was the son of the late John Alphonse and Virginia Gregory Sterken. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Susan Dawson Sterken and sister, Virginia Sterken Fountain.
John leaves behind to cherish his memory, sons, Greg Sterken and wife Debbie, Harvey Sterken and wife Blair, Dawson Sterken and Sam Sterken, daughter, Sue Griffin and husband Parks. He is also survived by grandchildren, Sharon Sterken Berg, Patrick Sterken, Eric Sterken, Will Sterken, Miles Sterken, Emily Sterken, Mehegan Griffin Burgess, Sutton Griffin and one great grandchild, John Gregory Sterken III.
John received his degree in Industrial Engineering from NC State and served in the Army Air Corp as an officer and pilot.
A private family service will be held.
