WILSON - Joyce Firman, age 87, passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2022. Born in England on February 19, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Charles Firman and Freda Bacon Firman.
Joyce was an avid gardener and always had beautiful flowers in her yard. She loved to spend her quiet time reading or going for a long walk. Joyce loved children and enjoyed her many years as a day care teacher. She made a difference in the life of everyone who knew her and she leaves behind a tremendous legacy of life, love, and laughter. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her, but her loving spirit will never be forgotten as she was everything to her family.
Joyce is survived by her daughters, Patricia Ann Garrett and husband, Louis, of Rocky Mount and Jacqueline Marie Owens and husband, Johnny, of Macclesfield; her sons, Christopher John Hales of Nashville and Charles David Hales of Macclesfield; her grandchildren, Cassie Jeans, Ciera Taylor, Montreal Taylor, Curtis Owens, Tiffany Owens, and Amber Hales; her great-grandchildren, Steven, Cameron, Josiah, Dontae, Maliyah, Addie, and Shawn; her sisters, Ruth and Gwen both of England; her brothers, Allen and Chas both of England; her close friend, John Hales; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be private.

Ms. Joyce was a great daycare teacher to my grandkids. She was always smiling and friendly. All the kids loved her. My condolences to the family.
