Lewis Leverette Rich, age 85, passed away on Tuesday, September 4, 2018. Born in Halifax County, NC on April 4, 1933, he was the son of the late Teachey Richard and Grace Berlin Clemmons Rich, he was also preceded in death by brothers, Leaton Clemmons, Impy Clemmons and Marvin Mooney.
Lewis leaves behind to cherish his memory, wife of 64 years Betty Walston Rich, son, Richard Rich and wife, Anna, three granddaughters, Elizabeth Rich Lowenhagen (Greg Lowenhagen), Catherine Rich and Natalie Rich. Lewis will also be missed by his large extended family of in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Lewis was a kind, hardworking man that loved his family and friends; he will be greatly missed by all.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 10, 2018 at 12:00 noon in the Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service.

So very sorry to hear about the passing of Uncle Lewis., I know we did not see much of each other, but he was one of my favorite uncles..My condolences to the family, especially Aunt Betty and Richey…Eddie Clemmons
Lewis and Betty are dear friends we use to hang with many week-ends. Will always remember the meals shared with them at their home. Trips to the coastal for the week end, and just setting down and talking about our children. Lewis will be missed but never forgotten. John & Brenda Woodruff & family
