Lillian Geneva Brooks Rose

March 5, 1932 ~ December 26, 2019

Lillian Geneva Brooks Rose, age 87, met her savior face to face as she walked through the gates of heaven on December 26, 2019. She was born, March 5, 1932 in Halifax County to the late Charlie Cooper and Lillian Gardner Brooks. She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Rose, brothers, Oliver Gardner, James Gardner, John Gardner, David Gardner, sisters, Myrtle Parker, Hazel Viverette, Estelle Braziel and Appie Lindsey. She is survived by her daughter, Brenda and several nieces. Lillian's family friends with their unique and special connections will also cherish their memories of her. Lillian enjoyed worshipping God with her church family at Northside Community Church where she was loved by the family of God. Lillian believed in God's word and witnessed His favor in her life during her 2015 Christmas Day stroke journey. She also was one of the oldest members of Church Renewal Journey as she supported her daughter by traveling with her during renewal weekends by working behind the scenes as she did not like to be in the spotlight. Lillian could be seen picking up pinecones and limbs as she enjoyed working in her yard. Her greatest joy was being a mom to her daughter, Brenda, her "knothead", teaching her the word of God and for Brenda to always do what is right even when it was not the popular thing to do. Lillian just wanted to make sure her, Brenda was alright even until her last heartbeat. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Pineview Cemetery with Rev. 1. Mrs Rose was a very sweet lady that love her child Brenda dearly and she loved God with all her heart Im sure right now she is rejoicing in heaven now

  2. Mrs. Lillian was a joy to know and a treasure to our church. Her faithfulness was a blessing and an example to us all! I did not always make it to her side of the Church during welcome time, but when I did, I always joyed in seeing her and speaking to her and Brenda. She will definitely be missed…her empty seat leaves a big hole in our family. However, I rejoice that she has moved to a new and eternal address, and I know she is full of joy as she praises our wonderful Lord! Prayers for you, Brenda, and other family members. I know your loss is overwhelming, but I know our Father is a good Father, and He will see you through this valley of the shadow of death. Love to you all.
