Linda Porter Little-Walker

TARBORO – Linda Porter Little-Walker, age 72, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. Born in Halifax County, NC on October 1, 1953, she was the daughter of the late James Madison Porter and Mary Magdlina Stephenson Porter. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Margaret Kennedy, and brothers, Edward Earl Porter and James Madison Porter, Jr.

Linda passed away leaving behind a legacy of love, friendship, and devotion to her family. She was a proud member of the Moose Lodge and cherished the many friendships she made there. Linda especially enjoyed attending Moose Legion Celebrations, where she shared countless laughs and lasting memories with friends.

Her greatest joy in life was her family. Nothing made her happier than having everyone together, especially during the Christmas season, when family traditions and treasured moments filled her home with love. She expressed that love through her cooking, and her homemade banana pudding, pecan pie, chocolate cake, and collard greens became favorite dishes that family eagerly looked forward to at every gathering.

Linda will be remembered for her warm heart, generous spirit, and the love she gave so freely to those around her. Her memory will live on in the family traditions she created, the meals she lovingly prepared, and the many lives she touched with her kindness.

Linda is survived by her husband, William Frankie Walker; daughter, Angela Carroll; son, John Wesley Carroll, Jr. (Laurie Ballew); grandchildren, Camila, Heather, Gavin, Logan, and several great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Wood; special friends, Cindy Marriott Goodall, Ann Watson, Brenda Bell, and Jackie Boykin.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Brentwood Pentecostal Holiness Church, 3806 N. Main Street Tarboro, NC, with Pastor Paul Mobley officiating. The family will receive friends and family one hour before the service.
