Linda Speight Davis

NASHVILLE – Linda Speight Davis, age 76, passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2025.  Born in Edgecombe County, NC on September 19, 1948, she was the daughter of the late James Thomas Speight and Kathleen Hamm Speight. She is also preceded in death by her husband Bobby Stanton Davis.

Linda was a devoted member of Shenandoah Baptist Church until failing health prevented her from attending. She will be remembered for her kind spirit and unwavering faith. She enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. Linda loved spending time watching television, especially her favorite crime shows. A true foodie, she had a special love for Bojangles and KitKat candy bars. A passionate sports enthusiast, she was a die-hard Carolina Tar Heels fan and never missed an opportunity to cheer on her team. She also cherished her trips to the beach, finding peace in the tranquility of the ocean. Linda will be deeply missed.  She made a difference in the life of everyone who knew her, and she leaves behind a tremendous legacy of life, love, and laughter.

Linda is survived by his brother, Jimmy Speight; sisters, Mary Ann Speight Bryant (Thomas), Barbara Jean Speight Barfield (Bruce); nieces, Jennifer Hemilright, Heather Pernell, Cheryl Mastroianni, Amy Owens; nephews, Charles Speight, Kenneth Barfield; seven great nieces and nephews; and special friend Shelly Maloney.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Pastor Tim Parker officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM prior to the service in the Parlor of Johnson Funeral Home.
