Lois Joyner Jones

Red Oak- Lois Joyner Jones, age 86, passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2020. Born in Nash County, NC on April 22, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Benny Lee Joyner and Estelle Joyner. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Milton Jackson "Stump" Jones; daughter, Seldon Marie Jones; son, Milton Jackson "Jack" Jones, Jr; brothers, J.B. Joyner, Buddy Joyner, and Bob Joyner; sister, Eunice Frazier. Lois was employed at Standard Oil Company in Chicago, Sunshine Laundry in Rocky Mount, and Fort Hell, the family owned business, prior to her retirement. She was an active member of Red Oak Methodist Church since 1952, previously serving as the secretary and treasurer for several years. Hobbies included crocheting, cross-stitching, and spending time with her family. Lois noted that her greatest accomplishment was raising her sons, and instilling in them values to make them exemplary men. Lois is survived by her son, Jeff Jones of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Parker Jones, Alex Jones, and Caterina Jones; sisters, Jane Matthews of Charlotte, Doodle Daniels of Nashville, Faye Carter of Nashville, Joyce Puckett of PA, Joan Daniels of Apex, Helen Hayes of Nashville, Diane Briggs of Nashville; brothers, Phil Joyner of Greenville, Harry Joyner of Nashville, and Bennie Joyner of Nashville. A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, August 23, 2020 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Rev. David Joyner officiating. Burial will follow the service at Red Oak Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives on Saturday, August 22, 2020 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home.   1. I’m so sorry to hear about sweet Lois. She was such a kind and loving person and did so many fun things with the youth at the Methodist Church. I will always remember her, and I wish you all peace in the knowledge that she’s always in happiness now with all her loved ones who’ve gone on.
