Born in: Franklin County, North Carolina
Resided in: Rocky Mount, North Carolina

ROCKY MOUNT – Louis E. Pendleton, age 84, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2025.  Born in Franklin County, NC on June 27, 1940, he was the son of the late John G. Hardy and Maebell Wrenn Hardy. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Wilbur Pendleton.

Louis was a man of great faith, and a faithful servant of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He faithfully attended Grace Free Will Baptist Church where he was a deacon for many years. He later attended Ridgecrest Worship Center for many years until his declining health. Louis was also known for his strong work ethic. He was the proud owner of L&P Grocery in Nashville and worked for many years in the Grocery Industry, where he was a Store Manager for several grocery stores. In his free time, he enjoyed wood crafts, watching old western shows, Andy Griffith as well as Lifetime and Hallmark movies. But above all, he was a true family man that worked hard to provide for his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and loved nothing more than getting together and spending time with his family. He will be truly missed by all that knew and loved him.

Louis is survived by his wife of 63 years, Peggy Baker Pendleton, his daughters, Teresa Davis, and husband CT, of Rocky Mount, Lisa Wells, and husband Todd, of Red Oak, NC, and Kristi Peele of Spring Hope, NC; his grandchildren, Chad Thomas, Katie Simpson, and husband Ryan, Tyler Wells, and wife Brittney, Kierstin Cooper, Jake Cooper, and Dax Peele; his great-grandchildren, Taylor Thomas, Blake Thomas and Kaisley Wells; his brother, Wayne Hardy, and wife Diane, his sister-in-law, Mary Helen Pendleton; multiple nieces and nephews; and special friends, Don Hill, Doug Speight and Mike Williams.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 10, 2025, at 11:30 AM in the Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Pastor Brad Powers, and Rev. Billy Keith officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 10:00 AM – 11:15 AM prior to the service in the Parlor of Johnson Funeral Home.
