Macie Manley Debro, age 85, passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2017. Born in Halifax County, NC on August 29, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Roosevelt and Reatha Jones-Lynch Manlley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Vernon Debreaux; son, Thomas V. Debro Jr., grandson, Antoine Arrington and granddaughter Erica McCray.
Macie was the 2nd oldest of 16 children. She moved to New York in 1957. She then moved back to North Carolina in 1991. She became ill and in 2010 she moved to Maryland where she resided until her death on 7/26/2017
Macie leaves behind to cherish her memory, seven daughters, Evangeline, Mary, Mazie, Dorothy, Barbara, Retha and Simone, and two sons, Joseph and Samuel. She is also survived by a host of grandchildren, several great grandchildren, great great grandchildren; and five sisters and two brothers.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2017 from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Johnson Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 1:30 PM in the Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Pleasure Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
