Marie Barnes Weaver

Rocky Mount - Pattie Marie Barnes Weaver, age 83, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 07, 2016. Born in Nash County, NC on January 17, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Sidney Lester Barnes and Maggie Thornell Barnes. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband of 62 years, Johnnie Elbert Weaver; daughter, Dale W. Flood and husband, Don; son, Steve Allen Weaver; daughter, Betty W. Satterwhite and husband, Chuck. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Lee Flood and wife, Sara, Megan Turner and husband, Jonathan, Molly Satterwhite, Cole Weaver, Bennett Satterwhite, Stevie Jo Lumley and husband, Tyler and Macie Weaver. She is also survived by three great grandsons, Ethan Flood, Aaron Flood, Spencer Turner and one unborn great granddaughter, Savannah Jo Lumley. She is also survived by two half-sisters, Jean Smith, Mae Smith and husband Coy, two half-brothers, Sidney Barnes and wife Gloria and Roger Barnes. She is also survived by three sisters-in-law, Lettie Weaver, Florene Weaver, two brothers-in-laws Bobby Lee Weaver and Paul Weaver and wife, Helen. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be greatly missed, but we know she is now at home with her Lord and Saviour. She was a long time member of Grace Free Will Baptist Church. Her hobbies included cooking for her family, tending to her flowers, watching and feeding her birds and wild animals. A visitation will be held Tuesday, August 9, 2016 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at Johnson Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday August 10, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. David Proctor Sr. and Rev. Paul Weaver officiating.
