Marvin Ray Everette

Marvin “Ray” Everette, age 89, passed away on Wednesday, October 31, 2018. Born in Nash County, NC on November 4, 1928, he was the son of the late Percy Lee Everette and Ella Bell Greene Everette. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Jordan Everette; brothers, Beal Greene Everette, Edwin Lisk Everette, Sr., Kirby Lee Everette; nephew, Robert Michael Everette; and niece, Nelda Everette. Ray is survived by his daughters, Bettina E. Howard (Mike) and Marty E. Payne (Bob). He is also survived by grandchildren, Jason Glover (Candy), Haley Cole (Derrick), Clayton Howard (Nikki), Brandon Howard and Jordan Howard, great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Glover, Trey Glover, George Howard and Riley Rae Howard; sister-in-law, Barbara J. Moss; brother-in-law, Kenneth Jordan; and also Ellis D. Powell (Craig) whom he considered like a daughter. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home, 661 English Road, Rocky Mount. Visitation will follow the service until 1:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home Cremation Services and other times at the home of Bettina Howard, 800 Joshua Clay Drive, Rocky Mount, NC 27803. There will be a private burial at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
