Mary Evelyn Wise

NASHVILLE – Mary Evelyn Wise, age 71, passed away on Friday, February 24, 2023. Born in Nash County, NC on December 9, 1951, she was the daughter of the late William Lancaster and Cassie Mosley Lancaster. Mary’s love for preparing family meals which brought much laughter and happiness to the family table was always a cherished moment. She loved flowers and everything sweet. Above all, her most cherished memories will be those spent with her family. Her hugs that were always received will be deeply missed. Mary is survived by her husband of 51 years, Avery Wise, her son, Michael Wise (Stacey), of Nashville; her daughter, Melissa Manning (Wayne) of Tarboro; her grandson Jack Bohn; step grandchildren Hannah and Caroline Browning, and Ian and Grace Manning; her brothers, Alton Lancaster (Donna), Steve Lancaster and Stanley Lancaster; and many nieces and nephews. A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, February 27, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Rocky Mount Memorial Park with Rev. Bruce Brumfield officiating. A visitation with the family will follow the service at the graveside. Flowers are welcome.
