Mildred Arlene Dunbar

ROCKY MOUNT - Mildred Arlene Dunbar, age 77, passed away on Friday, January 14, 2022. Born in Pasquotank County, NC on September 20, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Edgar Miller and Mildred Halsey Miller. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Norman Miller. Arlene loved spending her days with her grandchildren and her dog Bertha. She enjoyed shopping and purchasing the newest Vera Bradley handbag. Arlene was known by many for her great sense of humor and the ability to joke about anything. Even though she has been in bad health for many years, Arlene always had a positive attitude and a smile on her face. She was a kind hearted down to earth person that never met a stranger. She made a difference in the life of everyone who knew her and she leaves behind a tremendous legacy of life, love, and laughter. She will be deeply missed. Arlene is survived by her son, Steven Dunbar and wife, Angela, of Nashville; her grandchildren, Matthew Dunbar, Cassidy Dunbar, Jake Dunbar, Madison Dunbar, and Savannah Larwa; her brother, Eddie Miller and wife, Colleen, of Raleigh; and her nieces, Meredith Kelly, Linda Layton, and Pam Ellis.   1. Arlene was such a sweet person. Always a bright light. She truly loved to laugh even when she felt bad . We will truly miss her.
