Your views where strong, but he was always open to hear the views of others. We had a great second season at NBC. We upset Bluefield State that year (81). Coop hoisted the ball to the rafters in celebratory fashion. It was Doobie who made the arrangements for He Randy, Rob and I to come to DC to continue or college career as scholarship athletes, after playing ball at NBC. We hooped all over the city in the summer and played collegiate during the fall and winter. .! Ill never forget how we stuck together those years in coming from small town to the nations capital to play ball finish our education. We had great memories hooping, studying, working, and enjoying all that the nations capital had to offer to 22 year old college athletes. Our Most memorable games by far were against Morgan State, especially the victory a Home after I broke my arm in the first have and was transported! Y’all fought and scrapped and brought home the W that night, Then came to Celebrate with me in a full arm cast.! I am very sad to hear of Doobies passing. That that we would all be able to get together and trade b-ball war stories.! Rest from your labor my brother, for to be absent from The body is truly to be present with the Lord. 12. To our beloved Doobie, There are no words to describe living in a world without you. As much as we try to follow your guidance to move forward, we wake up each day brokenhearted because you are no longer here. We cling to the good memories the days we huddled around the kitchen table sharing stories and laughs, the family trips or the hours we spent on the phone together. You loved your family and love spending time together. We are so proud of you as a husband, father, provider and human. You gave all that you had without hesitation. You lived a life by your word. You are loved and appreciated by many. The outpouring of love over the last five weeks is amazing. The prayers, words of encouragement, and stories of our beloved Doobie provides great comfort. My mother and I would like to thank the Rocky Mount Toyota and Bobby Murray Toyota Mitsubishi family for the round the clock support. We are so proud to be apart of your extended family. Milton not only loved the business but he respected and cherished the relationships he had with each of you. To Milton’s customer Thank you for the outreach and support that came from near and far. Milton took great pride in the relationships he formed with each of you over the years. Thank you for making him your preferred salesperson over this 25+ year career in Rocky Mount. We’d be remiss if we did not extend our gratitude to those that cared for our beloved Doobie, even in the midst of a pandemic. We appreciate the support and services of Johnson’s Funeral Home. You treated our family with dignity, respect and patience. To our family and close-friends, my mother and I would not be able to function without your love, support and prayers. My mother and I extend our condolences to each of of you that have experienced the loss of a brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, nephew, and great friend. We pray that the good memories with Doobie continue to flood your hearts and minds everyday. Doobie you were the author of your story. It was an honor for us to be connected to you on this earth. Your legacy lives through us. We love you in all the ways we know how and that will never change. We wish you freedom and peace. You will forever be in our hearts, Your beloved wife and daughter

  13. There isn’t a day that your name isn’t spoken with praise or your presence missed. You were loved and respected by so many. I can see the smirk on your face as I convey these words. It doesn’t seem real living in a world without you. I can hear your voice instructing Mom & I to do our best, to push forward and focus on the things we can control-we are trying. Our family will always be bonded in loyalty and love. Until we meet again…

  14. Today was one of your favorite holidays. You and mom would normally argue about counter space and how you used all the bowls and pans to make breakfast. You’d fill my plate with your fried sweet potatoes, which were really awesome! After breakfast, we’d crowd around the TV and watch the National Dog show. Our afternoons wouldn’t be complete without a good nap before Thanksgiving Dinner. So many good memories and I’m grateful for all of them. You are always missed but especially missed today.

  15. The joy you brought into our lives will not be forgotten, especially on this Christmas Day. Your memory lives in our hearts and minds until we meet again.

  16. Time moves so slowly and even after 6 months I don’t think we’ve fully accepted you’re gone. The good memories bring us comfort until we meet again….we love you!!

  17. Thank you for the years of love, loyalty, family, and friendship. You continue to enrich our lives. You live through our laughs, wisdom, and aspirations. We celebrate your life-forever proud we honor you as a loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend.
