Milton H Parker

ROCKY MOUNT – Milton H. Parker, age 95, passed away on Monday, August 31, 2026. Born in Halifax County, NC on May 15, 1931, he was the son of the late Sidney Parker and Bessie Worrell Parker. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Currin Parker; sisters, Maxine Bobbit, Margaret Pepper, Josephine Warren; brothers, J.T. Parker, and Lloyd Parker.

Milton was a hardworking and devoted man who lived a full life centered around his faith, career, and the things he loved. In 1963, he became a Nationwide Insurance Agent, beginning a successful 33-year career in the insurance industry. His dedication and strong work ethic earned him numerous honors, including being recognized several times as one of the top sales agents in North Carolina.

Milton was an avid golfer and fisherman who enjoyed spending time outdoors. He was also a talented woodworker who loved building things and working with his hands. Naturally handy, there was little he could not create, repair, or figure out. He especially loved the beach and the peaceful moments spent along the coast.

A man of strong faith, Milton was a devoted longtime member of Northside Community Church, faithfully attending for many years until his health declined. He will be remembered for his faith, talents, dedication, and the lasting impact he made on those who knew and loved him.

Milton is survived by his son, Greg Parker (Kristy); daughters, Brenda Burne, Pam Mikow (Chuck); grandson, Brian Burne, and a host of nieces and nephews.

A Special Gathering will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at 6:30 PM until 8:30 PM at Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 661 English Road, Rocky Mount, NC  27804.
