Nancy Lancaster Joyner

ROCKY MOUNT - Nancy Lancaster Joyner, age 73, passed away on Wednesday, May 26, 2021. Born in Edgecombe County, NC on April 27, 1948, she was the daughter of the late James David Lancaster, Sr. and Iva Louise Dozier Lancaster. Nancy was a devoted piano player since the young age of 12 at Temperance Hall United Methodist Church. She was a devoted member of Temperance Hall Ruritan Club. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to all that knew her. Nancy is survived by her husband of 52 years, Donald Edward Joyner; her daughter, Donna Joyner Pulliam and husband, Mack, of Rocky Mount; her brother, Jimmy Lancaster and his wife, Jenny, of Rocky Mount; her grandson, Hunter Lane Pulliam; and all her nieces and nephews, whom she considered to be her second children. A Celebration of Nancy's Life will be held on Monday, May 31, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Temperance Hall United Methodist Church with Rev. Jessie Baker officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM prior to the service at Temperance Hall United Methodist Church. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the family is requesting the need for social distancing and wearing of masks due to health concerns faced around our nation at this time. The family would like to say a special thanks to all friends and family who have helped in taking care of Nancy over the past two years.
