ROCKY MOUNT – Rachel Olivia Frazier McClintock age 102, went home to Jesus on Tuesday, January 31, 2023. Born in Nash County, NC on January 15, 1921, she was the daughter of the late William Frazier and Myrtie Freeman Frazier. She was also preceded in death by her only husband, Floyd Charles McClintock; Baby Boy McClintock; her sister, Christine Frazier; and her brothers, Horace Frazier and AB Frazier.
Rachel was a charter member of Englewood Baptist Church and active in Rocky Mount Pilot Club. She loved gardening and always had beautiful flowers, especially roses in her yard. She enjoyed baking and loved to give out goodies at Christmas time. Rachel was a seamstress and owned her first shop in Nashville, NC. She later moved to Rocky Mount to expand her customer base. She did not retire until well into her 80’s. Rachel loved traveling especially to Nashville, TN, New York City, Norfolk, VA, Ohio, and the beach. In her 102 years Rachel has lived through the great depression, World War II, a man walking on the moon, and Seventeen presidents. In her recent years she enjoyed playing Bingo at Brekenridge Retirement Center, and spending time with her pride and joy Jackson. Above all, her most cherished memories will be those spent with her family.
Rachel is survived by her daughter, Judy Overton and husband, Earl, of Rocky Mount; her grandchildren, Billy Andersen and Amy Linville and husband, Rob; her great-grandchildren, Alex Dapp and wife, Danielle, and Madilyn Linville; and her great-great- grandson, Jackson Dapp.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 6, 2023, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Rev. Charles Taylor officiating. Burial will follow the service at Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM prior to the service in the parlor of Johnson Funeral Home.
