Raymond Lee "Bootie" Parker

Rocky Mount - Raymond Lee “Bootie” Parker, age 83, passed away at his home on Monday, July 23, 2018. Born in Nash County, NC on May 1, 1935, he was the son of the late William U. and Myrtle Gardner Parker. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Aileen W. Parker; and one brother, William H. Parker. Raymond leaves behind to cherish his memory, sisters, Alma P. Johnson of Rocky Mount, NC and Marie Poland (Carlton) of Rockingham, NC, sister-in-law Evelyn M. Parker of Rocky Mount, NC and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Bootie held a number of jobs throughout his life, one of which lead to owning his own convenience store. He later retired to care for his wife, after working many years with Industrial Electric Sales and Service, Inc. His passion was restoring classic cars and tractors and sharing stories of his many adventures. The family would like to thank his very special caregivers: Cassie Arrington, Angie Daniel, Barbara Chapman, Diane Poland, Angela Pritchett, and Renee Kea for their love and dedication. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
