Richard Lee Slavin

ROCKY MOUNT - Lee Slavin, age 47, passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2022. Born in Suffolk, VA on July 13, 1974, he was the son of Bruce Slavin and Ronda Samples Slavin. He was preceded in death by his mother; his grandfather, William Calvin Slavin; and his aunt, Teresa Slavin Long. Lee enjoyed fishing, especially at the beach and riding his motorcycle. He loved music to include heavy metal right on down to country. He was proud of his welding career. He adored his Angie and was proud of his son, Shane. He loved spending time with all his family and friends and will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him. Lee is survived by his wife, Angela Griffin Slavin; his son, Shane Slavin; his dad and mom, Bruce and Debra Slavin; his sister, Kimberly Copeland; his brothers, Heath Slavin, Chris Rooks (Brandy), Brandon Rooks (Randi), and Lucas Rooks (Crystal); his grandmother, Mary Owens Slavin; his father and mother-in-law, Clifton and Elaine Griffin; his brother-in-law, Clifton Ray Griffin; his sister-in-law, Tina Owens; as well as several nieces and nephews and extended family members. A Memorial Service to celebrate Lee's life will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Rev. Randy Holland officiating. Visitation will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Lee's memory to, Men's Christian Fellowship Home, 301 S.   10. Whew – Gone way too soon. Not just an X- But a lifelong friend. Metallica Concert, fluffy sweaters, Peachtree Street, JFK (back and to the left) , card games, fishing, cruising.
