Wayne Woodall

March 17, 1957 ~ May 27, 2026

Born in: Johnston County, North Carolina
Resided in: Rocky Mount, North Carolina

ROCKY MOUNT – Wayne Woodall, age 69, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2026. Born in Johnston County, NC on March 17, 1957, he was the son of the late Willie Robert Woodall and Nona Murray. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Betty Narron, and brother Glenn Woodall.

Wayne was a truly remarkable man whose hard work, generous spirit, and contagious laughter touched countless lives throughout North Carolina and Virginia.

He was a man who could fix just about anything with an engine, especially a tractor. Many would say there was nobody better when it came to working on tractors. Whether in the field, the shop, or helping his family or a friend in need, his hands were always busy, and his heart was always willing. He took great pride in honest work and never backed down from a challenge.

More than anything, he loved his family. His wife, daughter, and granddaughters were the center of his world, and he made sure they never went without. He spoiled them every chance he got, not only with things they needed, but with his time, love, protection, and unwavering support. His family always knew they were deeply loved.

He had a gift for storytelling, and no matter how many times you heard one of his funny stories, it never got old. He could fill a room with laughter in seconds, and his contagious laugh had a way of making everyone around him smile, even on the hardest days. His presence brought comfort, joy, and warmth to all who knew him.

He leaves behind memories of hard work, grease-stained hands, country roads, family gatherings, and laughter that echoed for miles. The impact he made on his family, friends, and community will never be forgotten.

Though he may be gone from our sight, his legacy will live on though the stories he shared, the lessons taught, the tractors still running because of him, and the family he loved so fiercely.

He will be deeply missed throughout North Carolina and forever cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 43 years Marie Woodall; daughter, Shannon Williams; step-son Joey Williams, and wife Patricia; two granddaughters, Haley Trotto, and Emily Spivey who was the center of his world; brothers, Curtis Woodall, and Danny Woodall; along with several nieces and nephews.

  9. I am just learning of Mr. Wayne’s passing. I am so saddened by your loss. He was truly one of a kind. He had such a great sense of humor and was a hard worker. We lovingly called him ” Burt Reynolds” because of his thick black hair and mustache. It always gave him a chuckle. We definitely would have wanted to pay our respects, had we known. My heart is heavy knowing he will no longer be here.
May you all find comfort and peace in the memories you all created together through the years.
Such an extraordinary man for sure. Love and prayers ❤️❤️❤️
