Whitney Nash Burnette

Whitney Nash Burnette, age 94, passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2018. Born in Edgecombe County, NC on July 7, 1923, he was the son of the late Norman and Minnie Burnette. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Sarah Spain Burnette Ware; six brothers, Franklin, Elliot, Robert, Norman, Virgil and Turner Burnette; and step-son, Don W. Joyner, Sr. Nash leaves behind to cherish his memory, wife, Cornetious (Connie) Farmer Burnette of Rocky Mount, NC, sons, Michael N. Burnette (Barbi) of Raleigh, NC and David R. Burnette of Swarthmore, PA. He is also survived by granddaughters, Lily Burnette of Swarthmore, PA, Christina J. Graham of Richmond, VA, Kim J. Cobb of Raleigh, NC, grandson, Don W. Joyner, Jr of Fuquay Varina, NC, 4 great-grandchildren and 26 Nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 12:30 noon at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
