Rocky Mount - Beloved father, son, brother, and husband William Dexter Cave, age 77, passed away peacefully at home in Rocky Mount surrounded by family on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at 8:50 AM. Born in Brocton, NY on June 4, 1942, he was the son of the late Donald Ray and Ola Janet Kelly Cave. William leaves behind to cherish his memory, wife of 26 years, Sharon Lynn Cave, sons, James Cave (Stacey) and the late Elizabeth of Washington State, Scott Cave (Kim) of Columbus, OH, Michael Cave (Jamie) of Painesville, OH and daughter, Wendy Youmans (Jeff) of Chardon, OH and step-children, Sarah Snapko (Adam) and Mikey Muzychenko (Melissa). He is also survived by grandchildren, Melanie (Mark), Jenny (Mark), Jonathan (Dominique), Kylie, Katie, Gavin, Jaden, Kassie, Mikayla, Mikey, Kurtis, Emma, Ed, Samantha, Autumn, great-grandchildren, David, Abby, Anderson, Jonathan; brothers, Warren Cave (Marguerite) of West Palm Beach, FL, Robert Cave (Karen) of Parrish, FL, Larry Cave (Linda) of Arkansas and sister, Peggy Walker (Jerry) of Sinclairville, NY. William was a retired Computer Engineer. William graduated from Cassadaga High School in Cassadaga, NY in 1960. He was a member of the National Honor Society. In 1965 he graduated from Fenn College of Engineering in Cleveland, OH with a degree of Bachelors in Chemical Engineering. He graduated with honors from American Institute of Chemistry and attended Business School at John Carroll University in Cleveland, OH. Over the years he worked at Bailey Meter in Wickliffe, OH, General Electric Nela Park in Cleveland, OH, Allen-Bradley in Mayfield, OH, TRW in Cleveland, OH and Diebold Inc in Canton, OH. William enjoyed golfing, fishing, boating, ballroom dancing and spending time with his family. A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 19, 2020 from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Johnson Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 20, 2020 at 12:00 noon at Resurrection Cemetery 8000 Woodyard Road Clinton, MD 20735. Entombment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum in Clinton, MD. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of William Cave can be made to The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration at www.theaftd.org or to Pruitt Health Hospice at 301 S.
